This project is to further strengthen the cooperation between municipalities of Rácalmás (Hungary - HUN) and Elverum (Norway – NOR) considering infrastructural and human capacity increasing activities in the field of smart energy system development. After successfully accomplished an energy-related project in the previous period, Rácalmás and Elverum are interested in focusing their cooperation to the future “operation side” of the regional energy supply system.
For this, the following activities are planned:
1.    Prepare a joint project idea synopsis based on previous joint project and the below proposed study document synopses. This project idea would aim to the practical, long-term operation of the energy development strategy as well as the extension of the energy system locally and regionally in Hungary. (1 document)
2.    Preparing the synopsis of study documents for:
2.1.    Smart energy usage model for HUN partners’ local public institutions, partially by the exploitation of the previously established green energy resources and available human infrastructure for sustainable energy production, energy efficiency, and energy saving in the local and (micro)regional context. (1 document)
2.2.    Micro district-heating system model for the NOR as well as HUN partner, that would serve as a best practice to be followed by the HUN partner in the future. The (feasibility)study, that this synopsis would outline would lead to a practical (pilot) development of such a system in the Municipality of Elverum (NOR; possibly in Hernes/Heradsbygd). (1 document)
3.    To further maintain and strengthen cooperation between HUN and NOR partners by further knowledge exchange and collaborative work. For this, a study tour (NOR) and a joint conference (HUN) will be organised. (2 events)
The project will take 4 months’ time, and will efficiently contribute to the horizontal principles of the project call.
