Project subpage

The project aimed to investigate the possible roles of interventions of sitespecific art and art in public space in post-industrial areas. The bilateral cooperation made possible to investigate both similarities and contrasts, to learn from our different experience and methods, and from additional, cross-sector partners.

The participating artists were selected through an open call (5 pers from Norway and 6 pers from Hungary), among them there were performing and visual artists, visual and audio designers, creative desiners.

From January to April 2017 we have realised 1-1 seminars and 1-1 workshops in Csepel (HU) as well as in Moss and Fredrikstad (NO).

In frame of the 4-day seminars – beside the site-visits of the artists – we have organised symposia with the aim of giving a wider context to the subject of the whole project. The symposia attracted appr. 25-35 „outer” participants in both cases.

The 10-days workshops has been concluded by project demonstrations – in Norway the presentation was closed, for invited guests only (with the participation of appr. 40 pers), in Hungary the „minifestival”of the artistic interventions could be seen by a wider audience (appr. 185 visitors, based on the ticket sales). We have also invited the representatives of other sectors, local businesses and investors  to the events, though they visited it in a limited number in Budapest, however the information about the programme and its success reached even those who couldn’t come.

The collaboration has been followed by 1 Hungarian and 1 Norwegian journalist on the project blog, futhermore it has been documented by a rich photo documentation, a film and a 120-page publication.
