Norway is considered to be world first regarding fighting climate change, and regarding the practical realization of effective climate actions (mitigation and adaptation).
What can I do? What can WE do? – the research of climate protection and climate-adaptation models, and the study of their perspective in adaptation with goals, such as:
- The study of climate protection and climate adaptation models on individual and joint levels, demonstration of adaptation
- Creating basis for the development of the services of Ecological and Rural Development Center of Dötk (target groups: citizens, municipalities, rural development initiatives, farmers) with the goal of transformation to a CLIMAMENTOR center. The main objective of the center to be developed into a CLIMAMENTOR center is preparation of target groups to climate change and relevant tasks, perspective change in view of the adequate „climate-answer”, reduce the effect of climate change and to adapt to the upcoming changes. Adding to the creation of the center, we plan to establish a net of CLIMAMENTORS, primarily made of professionals from the fields of environment protection, rural development individuals and organizations. The members would operate as perspective changers in the region. The centers operational area covers currently the whole area of Hungary, primarily but not exclusively the South-Transdanubian region.
Planned activities
- study tours (To NO and to HU)
- adaptation and strategic study based on the study tour and other professional cooperation: the adaptation of Norwegian models, the development plan of transforming Ecological Center into a CLIMAMENTOR center based on NO models and patterns
- cooperation agreements for the creation and development of the CLIMAMENTOR center, creating basis for further cooperation
- common workshop for the exchange of good practices and experiences
- Strategic agreement to foster long term cooperation between the two partners
