The overall objective of the initiative is to improve the work-life balance of women on parental leave in Hungary by examining good practices and generating strategies for addressing the existing gender inequality in this field. The project aims to achieve this by conducting a comparative study on parental leave in Hungary and Iceland in partnership with the Icelandic Centre for Gender Equality, a feasibility study for the creation of a child-friendly co-working space for women, and by organising a workshop where findings and directions for further development are discussed. In addition, the project also aims to set up a network for peer support and the sharing of resources for the stakeholders, and in the process to raise social awareness on the issue of gender inequality in the reconciliation of private, work and family life in Hungary. This initiative is understood as the preliminary phase for implementing further action in the field of supporting the professional development of women who are also primary caregivers to children, which will materialise as a child-friendly co-working space for mothers on parental leave. Ultimately, the aim of the proposed project is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and the dissemination of good practices on gender equality and thereby enhance greater prosperity for all concerned.
