The overall objective of this present project proposal is to create a partnership between Technology in Education Foundation (hereinafter Skool) and Kóder, a Hungarian and an Icelandic NGO, both focusing on providing wide access to the world of technology for as many young girls as possible. The partnership is about sharing experience, training materials and curriculum, fundraising know-how and best practices. Involvement of two local educational institutions - Óbuda University in Hungary and Reykjavik Technical College in Iceland - aims to strengthen the partnership by ensuring professional support. With this cooperation project, we aim to increase the capacity, to enhance the practices and to strengthen the networks of the organizations to be able to reach more and more girls with our programs.
The exchange of experience and best-practices is reached by the organization of two study trips and the following cooperation when the enhanced teacher training material and curriculum will be developed and the results published. The project will be supported by various communication activities throughout the project implementation. Cooperation between Skool and Kóder with the involvement of the two educational institutions is expected to enhance the Partners’ capacity to be able to reach more girls and thus - in the long run - it contributes to closing the gender gap in technology.
The cooperation project will result in long-term effects such as improved processes, detailed curriculum as well as enhanced cooperation between the Partners. Having this partnership established Partners would benefit from keeping in touch on a regular basis and sharing experience of including new teaching tools or other new practices. This way the cooperation is to be continued in the long run as well.
